Kevin Nghiahuu Dinh

I am a Postdoctoral Scholar at the Institute for Health Policy Studies (IHPS) and Healthforce Center at UCSF. My research spans health and labor economics, public health, and teaching pedagogy for math and economics. I am primarily interested in studying policies that expand access to high-quality health care for individuals from underserved and marginalized communities. My passion to empower these communities comes from my lived experience as a Vietnamese refugee.

I completed my Ph.D. in Economics at the University of California, Davis (UC Davis). I also received my B.A. in Data Analytics and Economics with a Minor in Mathematics from UC Davis.

Teaching

I view learning as an iterative process that builds through practice and confidence. I view myself as a guide and cheerleader, encouraging persistence and effective study habits so students leave with the confidence that they can learn anything. I have an instructor and TA effectiveness score of 4.67/5 at UC Davis and a guest lecture teaching effectiveness of 5/5 at UCSF.
